A sandy beach is just a short hike away. You can walk for miles along the surf's edge. Hunt for washed up treasures or that perfect piece of driftwood. Amaze your kids with your sandcastle building skills or try your hand at kite flying. Sea birds and sea life are everywhere and you could spend the day relaxing and watching them at play. Surf fish for sea perch or Dungeness crab. Certain times of the year you can build a beach fire or try your hand at digging up razor clams. Play in the surf, go horseback riding...the activities go on and on.

Relax and scan the horizon for ocean-going cargo ships or watch fishing trawlers bring in their daily harvest. Watch sea otters playing in the waves. In the spring and fall, whales pass on their long migration journey.
